Who We Are
The mission of Building Blocks Learning Academy is to provide high quality child care for children six weeks through 12 years of age. It is our principal goal to produce highly esteemed students who grow into lifelong learners. Through a caring, nurturing, safe environment, the staff at Building Blocks meet the cognitive, physical, social and emotional needs of the child thus making the preschool experience a positive first impression of formal education. Programming encourages exploratory and discovery, interactive developmental choices and provides age appropriate curriculum in which children are active participants. It is Building Blocks contention to develop the whole child, regardless of race, creed, color, religious , persuasion, economic or social/physical disabilities. It is the Academy’s commitment to its students to assist them in graduating from pre-schoolers to pre-scholars.
Building Blocks Learning Academy was founded in 2005 by the Executive Director, Michelle Redd, upon the principle philosophy that children need an environment which allows them to play freely as well as learn the basic skills necessary for later school success. Since its beginnings, hundreds of students have graduated from the Academy‘s Kindergarten and have gone on to make outstanding academic strides in the city’s private and public schools. Our caring capable instructors help guide the exploratory process to ensure the child‘s proper development and the indoctrination of a college bound mindset at the preschool level. We recognize that a child doesn’t come to us alone, but as a member of a family. The family is our starting point for developing programs and partnerships that create a strong sense of community.
We proudly offer a range of educational programs at Building Blocks Learning Academy for every age group. Each program is designed to be age-appropriate and is geared towards preparing children in their long journeys in life. Children come to us with the wonder, desire and will to learn. Our job is to make sure they leave Building Blocks Learning Academy with their inquisitive natures enhanced and with the discipline and tools to succeed. All of our programs were developed to adapt to the changing needs, interests, and abilities of the children in our care. We hope that their formative years spent with us are fruitful and fun-filled. We want to make wonderful memories in their childhood.
